Scrum Product Owner training is 100% online and hosted on a learning management platform. There are no required software applications or additional training materials needed.
Course Topics Include:
The Scrum Team
The Team's Product Owner
Leadership
The Backlog
Capabilities and Chores
Backlog Refinement
THE TRAINING EXPERIENCE There are two parts of the training experience, and you have control of both of them:
First, the prerequisite e-learning class (CSPO-LO). You will take an online class that teaches you about Scrum Mastering and verifies that you have achieved the Learning Objectives the Scrum Alliance has established. You will learn about the three main topics in Scrum: People, Product, and Process.
Second, you are required to take four 4-hour Sessions, which we call 4x4s, conducted by our Trainers. These sessions cover a variety of topics (People, Product, Process, Extras), and there is an agenda for each. We hold 4x4 Sessions frequently, typically between 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM Eastern. We encourage you to take all four topics, and if you miss one or more, you can make them up.

Dan Rawsthorne is an excellent instructor. He is very good at explaining what scrum is and how this framework benefits the work environment. I learned so much and I am excited to apply my knowledge in the computing field. I did very well on the Scrum Master exam and it was my first attempt, thanks to Dan's superb teaching.
Awesome Course

Awesome Course!! Instructor Doug Shimp was very knowledgeable and interactive!
From Military Intelligence to Scrum intelligence, Dan Rawsthorne has been applying agile for a mighty long time. Dan began his agile life with the biggest long-term user of agile principles: the military. As an officer in the U.S. Army, Dan was charged with applying artificial intelligence to computer security and developing sophisticated battlefield management systems that were used during the Persian Gulf War. Now retired from the military, Dan has traded the war room for the training room, teaching and coaching thousands of learners and organizations across the globe.
As an entrepreneur at a young age, Doug Shimp was practicing agile before he knew the meaning of the word. Leading a business required extreme teamwork, rapid feedback loops, and daily stand-ups to get the job done to stakeholder specifications on time and under budget. Doug learned the value of the Scrum framework from the ground up. Fortune 50 companies, small start-ups, and every business in between have reaped the benefits of face time with Doug. His robust, hands-on training creates momentum for teams to apply Scrum to their real world of work.
On-Demand is a blended approach of both instructor-led and independent, self-paced learning. As a learner, you can find your own rhythm and you choose how fast you go. You have up to 6 weeks to complete the course. (see our policy page for details).
The typical Module includes 20-60 minutes of reading (depending on your reading speed), and a multiple-choice quiz. After you complete these, you need to work with 1-2 StudyBuddies to discuss the module/quiz and do one or more scenario-based exercises. Each module will take about 1-3 hours of your time, and will require you to work with StudyBuddies (either someone in the course or outside of the course). You also need to attend four 4x4 CSPO Sessions, each 4 hours.
How do I become a Certified Scrum Product Owner?
If you would like to become a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), you need to complete the CSPO course taught by an approved trainer and attend four 4x4 CSPO Sessions; no exam is required at this time to obtain your CSPO certification.
Is there an exam following the CSPO class?
Currently, the Scrum Alliance does not require an exam to obtain certification following your CSPO class.
What are the requirements to finish my CSPO certification?
In order to gain the CSPO certification, you must do two things:
Complete 17 self-paced, on-demand modules, on topics like “Scrum in a Nutshell”, “The Team’s Product Owner”, and “Backlog Refinement”.
Attend four 4x4 CSPO Sessions with the trainers. You have up to 6 weeks to complete the course. (see our policy page for details).
How long does it take to finish the course?
You have up to 6 weeks to complete the course. The average completion time is 2-4 weeks.
Fastest: A fast pace would be a few days for completion. You need to complete all of the Modules first, then you need to attend four 4x4 Sessions, and we are planning to have 4 available per week.
Quick: If you want to be quick, it makes sense to do it in a month. Do 3-4 modules a week, then attend four 4x4 Sessions.
Minimum: You must be finished within 6 weeks of starting. See our policy page for more details.
